Things Hidden Since the Foundation of the World

Things Hidden Since the Foundation of the World is a theatrical investigation into the unsolved murder of legendary Iranian singer Fereydoun Farrokhzad.

Performed by Javaad Alipoor and Asha Reid with Raam Emami, it will have its world première this autumn at HOME in Manchester (October 22 to November 5) before a London run at Battersea Arts Centre (November 9 to 26).

It’s the final part of a trilogy of plays that look at how modern technology shapes political ideas and identities.

In the mid 1970s, Farrokhzad was at the height of his fame, a tuxedo-clad showman who was a regular fixture on Iranian TV and radio. In 1992, he was found murdered in his small flat in Bonn. German police never solved the case.
