Kathryn Tickell

The work of musician and composer Kathryn Tickell is deeply rooted in the people and landscape of Northumbria and they are influences that particularly shine through in her new show, Northumbrian Voices—which comes to Theatre by the Lake in Keswick on November 4.

The show, which features three generations of musicians including Tickell’s own father, is a fusion of traditional folk music and spoken word passages based on interviews with family members and shepherd musicians.

It also includes stories and recollections from mouth organist Will Atkinson and fiddler Willie Taylor, among others.
