My Fair Lady tour cast revealed

Michael D Xavier, Charlotte Kennedy, Heather Jackson and John Middleton are among the cast of Lerner and Loewe’s My Fair Lady which will go on a UK and Ireland tour from October 2022 until July 2023.

Xavier, nominated twice for an Olivier Award, will play Henry Higgins. He spent a year on Broadway in 2017 playing Joe Gillis opposite Glen Close in Sunset Boulevard and in Hal Prince’s show Prince of Broadway.

Kennedy will play Eliza Doolittle. She made her professional debut in Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Les Misérables in the West End in 1985 and took the role of Cosette in 2019.

Jackson will reprise the role as Mrs Higgins which she is currently playing at the London Coliseum. She played Madame Giry in the West End production of The Phantom of The Opera for a total of nine years, leaving the show in 2009.

Middleton will play Colonel Pickering. He is best known as Ashley Thomas in ITV’s Emmerdale, a role he played for 21 years. After that he appeared in a tour of Craig Warner’s adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s Strangers on a Train.

Tom Liggins made his professional debut in the West End run of My Fair Lady. On tour he will play Freddy Eynsford-Hill.

The cast also features Dammi Aregbeshola, Bernadette Bangura, Joseph Claus, Jordan Crouch, Jamie Cruttenden, Francessca Daniella-Baker, Barry Drummond, Bethany Huckle, Emma Johnson, Sinead Kenny, Jenny Legg, Rebekah Lowings, Carl Patrick, Tom Ping, Dominique Planter, Joseph Poulton, John Stacey, Joshua Steel, Oliver Tester, Adam Vaughan, Annie Wensak and Paul Westwood.

Directed by Bartlett Sher, My Fair Lady will tour to the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford from Thursday 22 September until Sunday 2 October, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin from Thursday 6 until Sunday 30 October, Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff from Tuesday 8 until Saturday 26 November, Playhouse Theatre, Edinburgh from Wednesday 14 December until Saturday 7 January 2023, Mayflower Theatre, Southampton from Thursday 12 until Sunday 29 January, Birmingham Hippodrome from Wednesday 8 until Sunday 26 March and The Marlowe, Canterbury from Tuesday 20 June until Saturday 1 July.
