Box of Tricks is to stage Narvik, a play with songs by award-winning playwright and singer Lizzie Nunnery.

Following successful touring productions of Plastic Figurines and Chip Shop Chips, the Manchester theatre company’s production is inspired by tales from naval veterans, and stories of Lizzie’s grandfather’s time in the Navy.

It tells the story of a Liverpudlian man and a Norwegian woman pulled together and torn apart by war.

Lizzie will also be premièring The Sum at the Everyman Theatre, Liverpool in May, Horny Handed Tons of Soil as part of the 50th anniversary of Mersey Sounds in July and Snow Dragons for the National Theatre as part of Connections 2017

North West dates for Narvik are January 31 to February 4 at HOME, Manchester; February 8 to 9 at Theatre by the Lake, Keswick; February 27 to March 4 at The Unity at the Bluecoat, Liverpool; March 7 to 8 at The Met, Bury.
