NE Amateur Group Gets Jerusalem Rights

Peter Harrison in JerusalemThe North East's leading amateur theatre company, the People's Theatre in Newcastle, has been given the rights to produce the northern premiere of Jez Butterworth's West End and Broadway hit Jerusalem.

The People's is one of the few amateur groups in the country to have been granted the rights to this much talked about play. Local actor Peter Harrison takes on the role of Johnny 'Rooster' Byron and the play is directed by Sarah McLane (daughter of NE actress Val McLane and niece of Jimmy Nail).

The production will run at the theatre in Stephenson Road, Newcastle, from 1st to 5th May, 2012.
