New Absurd tour to start in Derby

London Classic Theatre’s postponed production of Alan Ayckbourn’s Absurd Person Singular is to go on a UK tour starting at Derby Theatre.

The company’s artistic director Michael Cabot will direct the returning cast of John Dorney (Geoffrey Jackson), Felicity Houlbrooke (Jane Hopcroft), Helen Keeley (Eva Jackson), Rosanna Miles (Marion Brewster-Wright), Graham O'Mara (Ronald Brewster-Wright) and Paul Sandys (Sidney Hopcroft).

Cabot said, “we’re thrilled to be getting back on the road again and are looking forward to reconnecting with audiences and playing our part in the return of live theatre around the UK.

“We’ve been in regular contact with our cast and stage management throughout the shutdown and I'm delighted that they’re all returning for the new tour. They’re a fantastic team and it will be wonderful to see them all back at work, doing what they do best.”

Absurd Person Singular will be at Derby Theatre from 16 until 19 June. It will then tour to the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry from 23 to 26 June, Malvern Theatres from 29 June to 3 July, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford from 6 to 10 July, Key Theatre, Peterborough on 13 and 14 July, The Playhouse, Weston-Super-Mare from 16 to 18 July, Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham from 3 to 7 August, Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds from 10 to 14 August, Theatre Royal Bath from 31 August to 4 September, Cast, Doncaster on 14 and 15 September, Theatre Royal Winchester from 21 to 25 September, The Landmark, Ilfracombe on 28 and 29 September, Civic Theatre, Chelmsford on 1 and 2 October, Exeter Northcott Theatre from 5 to 9 October and Theatr Clwyd from 12 to 16 October.
