A new arts centre in a converted chapel on the small Hebridean island of Canna is inviting artists to perform in its summer season, running from May to September 2013.
The new Camus Arts Centre is looking for, according to artistic director Colin Irvine who has founded the venue with Magda Sagarzazu, "theatre, music and performances with a Scottish, Gaelic or Celtic theme but we are also interested in a more broad scope of theatre and music for performances as we do not want to limit the scope for the venue".
The venue is still in the process of refurbishment, but will seat around 40 audience members and have a lighting and sound system. The island is easily accessible by ferry from Mallaig and attracts thousands of tourists in the summer season as well as visitors from the mainland and nearby islands.
