Running from 8 to 14 June 2014 in the Studio Theatre at Upstage Centre Youth Theatre, the York New Musical Festival aims to offer a welcoming and nurturing environment in which new musical writing can be exhibited, workshopped and developed.
Last year’s festival showcased eight new productions at a range of stages of development. This year, the organisers intend to expand the festival to include daytime sessions, mentoring opportunities, and masterclasses.
The Association is currently inviting expressions of interest from composers and production companies who would like to perform unpublished or work-in-progress shows or simply to attend. The company’s web site at www.ynmf.co.uk contains further information and booking details.
