New Perspectives Theatre Company is beginning Emerging Perspectives, a programme open to a new generation of theatre-makers living and working in the East Midlands.

The company is a touring theatre producer, visiting regional, rural community venues as well as theatres and arts centres.

Training and skills development are central to New Perspectives work. The company champions new writing, nurturing emerging talent and supporting artists at different stages of their career.

For 2013/14 the company will be offering a range of opportunities in all areas of theatre.

EP Company—Emerging Performers and Practitioners is an opportunity for aspiring actors, directors, designers (set, costume, lighting or sound), composers, stage managers or writers aged over 18 to take part in a new company of emerging East Midlands theatre-makers.

The company will create and showcase work from October to July. Applicants can apply online. The deadline is Thursday (25 July) at 5PM.

EP Company—Emerging Playwrights; The Great Unheard is an opportunity for new writers to develop a unique theatrical voice, placing their work on stage as one of four new pieces for the EP Company to perform.

The company is seeking four emerging writers living and working in the East Midlands to join the EP Company on attachment from January until June. Applicants can apply by visiting www.newperspectives.co.uk/EmergingPlaywrights. The deadline is Thursday 24 October.

Long Play Competition is a full-length writing competition open to writers who are from or based in the East Midlands. The company is looking for writers with a distinctive voice, an unexpected story and/or an adaptation which will make them look at theatre afresh.

Guidelines and applications forms can be downloaded from the New Perspectives web site. The deadline is Thursday 9 January.

For more information about the opportunities available or to download application forms see Emerging Perspectives on the NP web site.
