Inspired by one of the largest travelling fairs in Europe: Fair Play

East Midlands based theatre company New Perspectives is to rekindle its postcard drama series with Fair Play, a new six-part mystery based on Nottingham’s famous Goose Fair.

Created for children aged from 5 to 11 and “perfect for all the family to enjoy”, the six postcards will land on people’s doormats over the course of six weeks. Each one gives recipients a special code to crack and a mystery letter to help them determine the writer of the cards. The postcards will be mailed in January 2022.

Fair Play follows New Perspectives’ previous dramas Love from Cleethorpes and Dare to Look Down! The new interactive series written by Jayne Williams features six original designs by graphic artist Ruth Disney who has taken inspiration from rides at one of the largest travelling fairs in Europe.

New Perspectives artistic director Angharad Jones said, “we hope that we can give space for children to develop their creative expression both at home and in the classroom by becoming detectives. The cards are stacked with ideas that develop their creativity in a fun and unique way, including writing and drawing.”
