One Christmas Eve: the story of three generations coping with Christmas

A new theatre company is to stage in Birmingham a new play by Edinburgh Fringe award-winning playwright Frank Bramwell.

One Christmas Eve marks the debut of TheatreOfTheQuarter and “tells the story of three generations of a Birmingham family as they prepare to cope with the battle that is Christmas”.

Mum is battling desperately to buy last-minute presents, dad is in the doghouse and their daughter in London is really not looking forward to a Christmas Eve on her own.

It is “an amusing, touching tale that strikes a chord within us all; a story of old Birmingham and new Birmingham as the different generations collide one Christmas Eve. Where did Christmas go? And what is it all about anyway?”

TheatreOfTheQuarter is “about and inspired by the Jewellery Quarter. As well as actively helping to promote the Quarter's unique distinctiveness and rich heritage, it produces plays, theatre classes and workshops for both residents and visitors alike”.

One Christmas Eve will have its première in St Paul’s Church in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham from Thursday until Saturday (11 to 13 December) at 7:30PM and Sunday (14 December) at 3PM.
