Coventry’s Warwick Arts Centre has announced that Julia Carruthers has been appointed programme director.

For the past four years, she has been director of the Dublin Dance Festival. Before that, she worked for Edinburgh International Festival, Michael Clark Company, Jonathan Burrows Group, Southbank Centre and Arts Council England where she was dance officer.

Carruthers said, “I’m really looking forward to joining the team at Warwick Arts Centre to build on the successes of the programme and take things onwards into the future. I’ve long been a fan of the ambitious and extensive range of projects and events on offer at Warwick Arts Centre.”

Warwick’s director Alan Rivett added, “we’ll shortly be entering the next phase of development and Julia’s wide-ranging experience in leading programmes and festivals will benefit our award-winning team here, now and into the future.

“I’m confident that Julia brings the skills, passion, know-how and determination to build on the foundations of our 40-year history as we encounter the exciting challenges ahead.”

She will assume her new role from January 2016.
