The Real and Imagined History of the Elephant Man is a new drama starring Zak Ford-Williams (BBC1’s Better) as Joseph Merrick.
Direct from Nottingham Playhouse, it will be at Blackpool Grand October 17–21.
The European première ofAustralian playwright Tom Wright’s acclaimed play imagines an alternative Elephant Man story.
Arriving from his East Midlands beginnings and thrust into a London thick with the grime of industrialisation, Merrick is an anomaly in a harsh and unforgiving world.
The cast are entirely disabled, deaf and/or neurodivergent actors.
Captioning is available for every show and a Visual Story will be available for audience members who would like to familiarise themselves before their visit.
