New Tiers for Old?: Panto Season 2020

The Government has announced which areas of England will now move from Tier 2 to Tier 3 on Saturday 19 December: Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Peterborough, Hertfordshire, Surrey (exept Waverley), Hastings, Rother, Portsmouth, Gosport and Havant, leaving just over 40 pantomimes running, approximately 14% of a non-COVID season.

Under the latest rules, venues under Tier Three restrictions are not permitted to host performance, whilst those in Tier One and Tier Two may do so, but must not exceed 50% capacity or 1,000 attendees (whichever is the smallest).
