Cream Cracker Under the Settee

New Vic regular Conrad Nelson is returning to his home venue to star in the Staffordshire theatre-in-the-round’s production of Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads.

Nelson, who lives in Newcastle-under-Lyme, will play Graham in A Chip in the Sugar. An associate director of Northern Broadsides, he played Iago alongside Lenny Henry in the company's production of Othello which toured to the New Vic in 2009.

Roberta Kerr, who appeared in Coronation Street as Ken Barlow’s love interest Wendy Crozier, will play Doris in Cream Cracker under the Settee.

Hazel Maycock, who featured in the New Vic productions Misery, Once we were Mothers, Love me Slender and Top Girls, plays Irene Ruddock in Lady of Letters.

Former New Vic artistic director Gwenda Hughes directs Talking Heads from Friday (25 January) until Saturday 16 February.
