In the same week that it won the Audience Choice Award in the Fantastic for Families Awards, Newcastle’s balletLORENT has been nominated for a National Dance Award, the only regional non-South East based company to be nominated for Best Independent Company.

Presented by the Dance section of the Critics’ Circle, the National Dance Awards are very prestigious and important in the dance world.

"We are thrilled to be nominated amongst out national peer group as an independent company of quality and a contender for recognition,” said Artistic Director Liv Lorent. “We are very proud to represent the North of England, where there is a vibrant and exciting creative landscape."
