Vignettes is back for a fourth showcase at Hope Mill Theatre Manchester, April 26 to May 10. Female playwrights bring together emerging and established creatives to create quality theatre.
Six female writers have been commissioned by HER Productions to write six original short plays and this year Noreen Kershaw joins the team of directors. Noreen’s work for stage and screen includes Our Girl (BBC), Coronation Street (ITV) and Shameless (Channel 4).
The writers are Carmel Morgan (Brookside, Coronation Street, Shameless), Nikki Mailer, Steph Lacey, Houmi Miura (BBC Writersroom Drama Room 2022, In The Beginning Woman Was The Sun), Alex Keelan (Vignettes co-founder) and Lekhani Chirwa (45 North, Burn Bright).
Founded by actor and producer Hannah Ellis Ryan, best known as Coronation Street villain Hannah Gilmore, HER Productions addresses underrepresentation of female writers in theatre at a regional and national level.
