Northumberland Theatre Company is looking for two female actors for a streamed performance in January. The company’s director, Louis Roberts, said:

"In association with the Brundibär festival and Gosforth Civic Theatre, we are looking for two female actors to portray the Cooke Sisters in a retelling of their story, The Heroines of the Holocaust: The remarkable true story of two ordinary lasses from Sunderland who achieved extraordinary things.

"The performance will be streamed at Gosforth Civic Theatre on the 25th January and rehearsals will be from 18th - 22nd at The Dovecote Centre in Amble, with one day’s tech at Gosforth Civic on 24th.

"The fee for the project will be £500.

"We are looking for versatile performers with the ability to sing, ideally in an operatic style as this is integral to the piece, and the ability to play an instrument is strongly desired.

"Please send a CV and self-tape of a suitable monologue no longer than 2 minutes in length and a musical demonstration that showcases your singing, ability to play an instrument or both to [email protected].

"We would ask that you use YouTube to upload your clip as an unlisted video and then send the link in your email.

"The cut-off date for applications will be Saturday 26th December at 5:00.

"Successful audition candidates will be notified on Monday 28th and auditions will be taking place over zoom on the 30th.

"We appreciate this is a tight turnaround but with COVID restrictions still in place it does mean we would have to move faster than normal."
