What the Dickens?

Blue Remembered Hill Casting Announced

Northern Stage has announced the cast for its production of Dennis Potter’s Blue Remembered Hills which plays at the theatre from 19th April to 11th May:

  • Angela - Tilly Gaunt
  • Audrey - Joanna Holden
  • Willie - David Nellist
  • Raymond - James Bolt
  • Peter - Chris Price
  • Donald - Adrian Grove
  • John - Phil Cheadle

The production is directed by Psyche Stott and designed by Ruari Murchison.

After Newcastle, it tours to Liverpool, Guildford, Watford, Oxford, Poole, Richmond, and Derby.

What’s On This Week

Opera North returns to the Theatre Royal this week with a double bill of La Voix Humaine (Poulenc), which stars Lesley Garrett, and Dido and Aeneas (Purcell) on Tuesday and Friday, Verdi’s Otello on Wednesday and Saturday and La clemenza di Tito (Mozart) on Thursday.

White Rabbit, Red Rabbit continues at Live Theatre until 17th March.

From Wednesday to Sunday Tender Buttons presents a site-specific production of Susan Sontag’s Alice in Bed at the Stephenson Works in Newcastle.

On Friday Northern Elements, in conjunction with ARC, presents Newspeak at Arts Centre Washington.

Up in Arms presents Fear of Music at the Customs House in South Shields on Wednesday.

On Friday and Saturday Northumberland Theatre Company opens its tour of 4 Scene: Passion, Power, Politics and Pleasure at Alnwick Playhouse.

Love or Money (and Other Stories) is at The Maltings in Berwick from Thursday to Saturday.

What The Dickens? presented by Gonzo Moose, comes to the Queen’s Hall in Hexham on Tuesday.

Scene Productions in association with Redbridge Drama Centre presents Fall of the House of Usher at the Middlesbrough Theatre on Tuesday.

The Agatha Christie Theatre Company brings Go Back for Murder to Darlington Civic from Monday to Saturday.

Oldham Coliseum in association with Harrogate Theatre presents Alan Ayckbourn's Sugar Daddies at Harrogate Theatre from Thursday until 9th March.
