Canadian-born British actress Tanya Moodie and director, writer and producer Samuel Munday-Webb have joined the board of Northampton Theatres Trust, the charity that runs the town’s Royal and Derngate.
Moodie, an Olivier Award-nominee, appeared in Royal and Derngate’s production of King John at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Northampton in 2015. She is a patron of Roundabout Dramatherapy and an ambassador for Park Theatre, London and Clean Break theatre company. Munday-Webb founded the Great British Pantomime Awards in 2016.
A third new trustee is Yorkshire-born Jane Bunce who worked for the University of Northampton in a number of senior roles before retiring in 2019.
Steve Edmonds, chair of the board of trustees, said, “we’re delighted to welcome Jane, Tanya and Sam to the board. Each brings a wide range of experience and skills, all of which will be a great asset to the board as we continue to navigate these challenging times, look towards reopening and emerging successfully in a post-COVID world.”
Edmonds is to step down after three years in the chair. The theatre is looking for his successor. Details of how to apply can be found on the Royal and Derngate web site. The closing date for applications is Monday 8 March.
