New cast: Hannah Miller is one of six new trustees at Royal and Derngate

Royal Shakespeare Company head of casting Hannah Miller is one of six new trustees of the board that runs Northampton’s Royal and Derngate.

Miller, who has held her position at the RSC since 2008, also works regularly in drama schools and with other industry organisations.

Another trustee is Charlie Wood who runs Underbelly, a live entertainment company which started off as a small venue at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He was named in The Stage newspaper’s list of the 100 most influential people working in UK theatre.

Dave Murphy has been chief executive of Cambridge Arts Theatre for the past 12 years, Jane Bloomer is a practising solicitor and two Northampton borough councillors become trustees, Mike Hallam and Danielle Stone.

MP for Daventry Chris Heaton-Harris, who chairs the board, said, “I’m delighted to welcome these new trustees. With their wide range of knowledge, experience and expertise complementing the skills of our existing trustees, the board is in great shape to support the continuing development of the theatre.”
