Northampton’s Royal and Derngate Youth Theatre is one of only ten school and youth theatre companies nationwide to be chosen to appear at this year’s National Theatre Connections Festival in London.

The youth theatre will perform We Lost Elijah by Ryan Craig at the National Theatre on Friday, 5 July at 7PM.

In April, Royal & Derngate was a regional hub for the National Theatre’s annual Connections programme, hosting performances by ten local companies of specially-commissioned new plays.

Royal and Derngate’s youth theatre performed We Lost Elijah which the company will reprise in the final stage of the Connections programme.

Georgia Munnion, Royal and Derngate’s creative projects manager and director of We Lost Elijah, said, “Being offered the opportunity to perform at the National Theatre is a testament to the talent and enthusiasm of our cast and creative team.

“I’m extremely excited about working with them again and being able to share in this amazing experience.”
