Carols and Cocktails

Newcastle’s Alphabetti Theatre, a very Fringe-like venue in a city centre basement, presents a Christmas show that’s not for the kids.

Carols and Cocktails is, we are told, “a Christmas show which will make you cringe.”

Written by Ben Dickenson, the venue's literary manager, it’s the story of a particularly awful office Christmas party in which IT gurus Phil and John are reinventing themselves as musicians, both with the secret aim of snogging Carol from PR. Unfortunately the boss wouldn’t book them for the office party but they are undeterred…

The play is directed by Ali Pritchard, Alphabetti’s Artistic Director, and features John Dalziel and Lawrence Neale. It runs from Tuesday 8 December to Wednesday 23 December (excluding Sunday 13 and Sunday 20 December).
