Nottingham Shakespeare Company is to stage free performances of Henry V in “unexpected places” across Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.
Christopher Commander will make his NSC debut in the title role. The rest of the cast comprises Michelle-Louise Wright who also directs, Emma Webber, Esther Warren, Lachlan Madin, Jonathan Mansfield, Joe Chapman, Alastair Fiori-McPhee, Bailey Carroll and David Watts.
The 90-minute production of Henry V will be staged in “bustling marketplaces to serene churchyards, from Nottingham’s Victoria Embankment to the Castle Rock Brewery”. NSC has back-up plans in case of a deluge.
Henry V will open at the Roundhouse, Nottingham on Wednesday 7 August. It will also be performed at Victoria Park, Nottingham on Thursday 8 August, Museum Square, Leicester on Friday 9 August, Ruddington Green at 2PM and Victoria Embankment, Nottingham at 7PM on Saturday 10 August, Newcastle Circus, the Park Estate, Nottingham at 2PM on Sunday 11 August, Beeston Churchyard on Wednesday 14 August, St John’s, Carrington on Thursday 15 August, Castle Rock Brewery Yard on Friday 16 August, and St John’s Annesley at 2PM and St Edward’s, Castle Donington at 7PM on Saturday 17 August.
