Five Shakespeare plays are to be performed in a summer season of open-air theatre on a private housing estate in Nottingham.

Shakespeare specialists The Handlebards will be presenting three of the plays, with the other two produced by a company called Plays in the Park.

The HandleBards will stage new productions in The Park, Nottingham of Romeo and Juliet at 7:30PM on Tuesday 21 June, The Taming of The Shrew at 7:30PM on Wednesday 22 June and Much Ado About Nothing at 3PM on Sunday 26 June.

Since 2013, members of The HandleBards have pedalled more than 5,000 miles across the world, carrying all their set, props and costumes on four bicycles. In 2016 they will be unveiling an all-female troupe.

Plays in the Park will perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream at 3 and 7:30PM from Friday 3 until Sunday 5 June and Henry V at the same times from Friday 10 until Sunday 12 June. Casting will be announced later.
