Nottingham Playhouse is encouraging nursing homes, schools and hospital wards to sign up for a streaming of its 2019 panto Sleeping Beauty.

Those unable to visit the theatre in person are being invited to apply for the streaming. Successful applicants will be given an online link to view the production—and the Playhouse will even offer to provide an usher on the day.

Rebecca Hogarth, community engagement manager at Nottingham Playhouse, said, “we’re passionate about making theatre accessible for as many people as possible.

We’re encouraging groups from across the UK to sign up to a streaming of Sleeping Beauty so that people who wouldn't otherwise be able to can see the pantomime.”

Applications can be made at the Nottingham Playhouse web site.

The cast of Sleeping Beauty comprises John Elkington (Nurse Tilly Trott), Maddie Harper (Princess Rosalind), Tim Frater (Jerry the Jester), Rebecca Little (Queen Gertrude), Darren Southworth (King Hubert), Louise Dalton (Prince Alexander), Lisa Ambalavanar (Fairy Wisheart) and Toyin Ayedun-Alase (Maleficent).

Kenneth Alan Taylor writes and directs. Designer is Tim Meacock and Jason Taylor is lighting designer. Musical director is John Morton. Adele Parry is choreographer and assistant director. Adam P McCready is sound designer. Additional casting is by Will Burton and Rebecca Little is dance captain.

Sleeping Beauty will run from Friday 22 November until Saturday 11 January 2020.
