Birmingham Royal Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker is to return to Birmingham Hippodrome at Christmas 2018 while a “spectacularly reimagined” version will be staged at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Created in 1990 as a gift to the city of Birmingham, Sir Peter Wright’s The Nutcracker combines gigantic sets, lavish costumes, 60 dancers and Tchaikovsky’s music played the Royal Ballet Sinfonia.

The Royal Albert Hall production includes “dazzling” projections, snow falling throughout the auditorium and live music from the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Nutcracker is at Birmingham Hippodrome from Friday 23 November until Thursday 13 December. It transfers to the Royal Albert Hall from Friday 28 until Monday 31 December.
