Innovative theatre company New Space Productions’ musical Indigestion is to get a second helping in Manchester.

The restaurant-based musical, first performed in 2011, is being revived at Bistro 1847 in the city next Wednesday.

The Manchester Stage Experience is back at the city’s Palace Theatre. Now in its ninth year, and following in the footsteps of critically-acclaimed productions, the venue opens its doors to young performers, who will be putting on a performance of Grease.

Ten-second year students from Salford University are taking their self-written show A Very, Very, Very Sleepy Princess to Edinburgh Fringe, having raised £9,000 to cover costs. The show has already toured schools in Manchester and the students then formed Scallywags Theatre Company.

Lancaster has its latest monthly arts attack on Friday of next week.

The city’s monthly celebration of culture also sees the public launch of Lancaster District Arts Strategy in the city’s Market Square.

Soul Sister, the musical theatre drama inspired by the lives of Ike and Tina Turner, comes to Blackpool Opera House as part of a national tour.

Marti Pellow’s latest incarnation is Che in Evita, when it comes to Salford’s Lowry arts centre next week.

He joins Evita fresh from a solo spring tour to launch his new solo album Hope.
