Out Lady of the GoldfinchesOn Monday night at the Rose Theatre of Edge Hill University, Ormskirk, Small Mercies present Our Lady of the Goldfinches by Jane McNulty, directed by Bill Hopkinson.

This radical new play examines sacrifice, martyrdom and the redemptive quality of love in the story of Jean McConville's murder by the IRA and of her daughter Helen's attempt to make sense of her death.

Our Queen of the NorthCoronation Street legend Pat Phoenix is celebrated in a new play The Queen of the North which opens at the Octagon Theatre in Bolton next week.

Acclaimed television writer and playwright Ron Rose wrote the celebrated television drama about the life of Pat Phoenix The Things You Do for Love: Against the Odds that aired in 1998, and revisits her life here in a work written specifically for the stage.
