Health Under Fire at Joshua Brooks

Next Tuesday, performers from all over the world will be hosting comedy-improvisation shows in memory of American comedian and actor Robin Williams, celebrating his birthday and his talents as an improviser and to raise funds for mental health charities. Lancaster-based improvisation company We Are Improv will be showcasing the style of comedy-improv with which Williams first made his name in the auditorium of The Storey venue in the city.

After last year's hugely successful performances in Manchester and London, writer-performer Ben Kewin returns to Manchester with director-producer Benedict Power to present critically acclaimed new play Real Life. It’s performed at the Studio at Manchester Royal Exchange next Friday.

Death By Pie presents Health Under Fire, as part of the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival, at the Joshua Brooks pub in the city from next Thursday to Saturday.

A faintly absurdist exploration of the stories that make up our lives, debuts at this year’s 24:7 Big Festival Weekend in Manchester. The Plant, by emerging playwright James Kerr, will be performed in the Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama from Friday to Sunday.

Contact Young Company in Manchester presents an immersive, interactive journey The Shrine of Everyday Things, guiding the audience through local domestic spaces under transformation, played out in an empty row of houses set for demolition and regeneration, from Wednesday to Saturday.
