Paper Cinema's Odyssey

Audiences can watch a silent film created before their eyes, accompanied by captivating live music at the Nuffield Theatre on the Lancaster University campus on Tuesday and Wednesday and at the Contact Theatre in Manchester the following night.

The Paper Cinema will be presenting their version of Homer’s Odyssey a unique form of live animation to originally scored music.

Arabian Nights, the timeless tales of magic and wonder passed down over hundreds of years by merchants and traders travelling across the Middle East, are at the heart of this year’s Christmas production from the Library Theatre Company at The Lowry in Salford. The production runs from next Friday to January 12.

Following the massive success of its revival of The Sleeping Beauty in 2005, and 2008—when it was seen by more than 150,000 people—English National Ballet is once again bringing Kenneth Macmillian's classic production to the stage.

It’s at Manchester Opera House from Wednesday to Saturday.

Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy collaborates with acclaimed theatre-maker Melly Still to create the world premiere of Rats’ Tales for audiences at the Royal Exchange in Manchester this Christmas.

It runs from next Thursday to Saturday January 12.

Rounding off its autumn / winter performance season, Word of Warning launches the Manchester debut of National Theatre Studio affiliates Made In China with a show about making sense of a mad world.

It’s on at Z-arts on Friday November 30.
