The Book Thief

The Octagon in Bolton will be casting four young people (two boys and two girls) between the ages of 11 and 15 to share the roles of Liesel and Rudy in the upcoming production of The Book Thief.

This new musical based on the novel by Markus Zusak will be written by international best-selling writer Jodi Picoult and Timothy Allen McDonald, with music by Kate Anderson and Elyssa Samsel.

To apply, auditionees must be a strong actor and singer and comfortable with movement. Rehearsals start August 15 and shows run between September 17 and October 15. Each role will be shared with another young performer so successful candidates will perform in half of the shows.

First-round auditions take place on June 11 in the form of relaxed group auditions, lasting around two hours. Deadline for applications is May 27.
