The Octagon in Bolton has launched a 12 Days of Christmas campaign to support its Future Fund.

It features 12 ways the public can support the venue, and includes gift ideas, online activities and ways to donate.

This year should have marked the opening of the Octagon’s brand new building following a £12m, two-year redevelopment, but the COVID pandemic forced the opening to be postponed and the world première of a new musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol to be rescheduled to next year.

Ways to support the venue include: become an Octagon Member, buy an Octagon Gift Voucher, purchase a ticket to a festive online event, make a donation, gift an Octagon Membership, sponsor a seat in the Octagon’s new auditorium or become an Octagon Patron.

Meanwhile, as the Octagon celebrate its 53rd birthday, the venue has an open-call opportunity for local artists. The venue will be opening its doors in January to provide an opportunity for local artists to be among the first to use the Octagon’s new rehearsal room to develop new work.

They will provide five days' free use, along with a £500 bursary and support from the artistic team, allowing selected artists to develop a new idea or continue an existing project that has been stopped or paused over the last 12 months.

The deadline for applications is December 9.
