Octagon Theatre in Bolton has a new two-year project, ReAct, to work with older people in the town.
Building on its older people’s engagement work and a network of over-50s audiences and volunteers, the theatre will support older people to become leaders in developing this engagement work with their own age range.
The theatre sees them as best placed to generate ideas for engaging others, addressing loneliness in the community and the future of engagement work with older people.
The £93,000 project will also help towards a year-round programme of dementia-friendly performances, launch a new volunteering programme and extend the reach of the regular over-50s theatre group to new areas in Bolton.
The theatre is currently recruiting a ReAct producer/project manager.
