The Octagon in Bolton has welcomed government funding of £620,232 as part of the £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund to help face the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

The money will support the theatre to reopen its new building in 2021 and helps cover some of the financial losses. The theatre hopes its reopening will be a beacon of hope in an extraordinarily difficult time for Bolton, which had endured local lockdown longer than many parts of the country.
