A winner at Writer’s Guild Awards 2018, Sarah McDonald Hughes’s new play Sherbet, co-written with Curtis Cole, opens at Octagon Theatre Bolton March 2 to 10.

The winning duologue will be performed in the Octagon Studio during the theatre’s 50th anniversary season.

As well as writing the play, Sarah and Curtis will also be performing in the roles of brother and sister Jade and Nathan.

Set in Moss Side, Manchester from 1997 to 2015, Sherbet follows the story of a brother and sister. Jade and Nathan are just kids, fighting against the odds to stay together forever. All they want is a normal life but, growing up in a world with no rules, it’s hard to tell right from wrong. Sherbet is about childhood, responsibility and control.
