Oduba and Peters lead Northampton Snow White cast

“True highlight” of Derngate’s 40th year: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Strictly Come Dancing winner Ore Oduba and actress Wendi Peters will head the cast of Northampton Royal and Derngate’s 2023 panto Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Oduba was crowned Strictly champion in 2016. His musical theatre career has included roles in Grease and the West End production of The Rocky Horror Show. He will play Prince Charming in Snow White.

Peters, who joins the cast as the Wicked Queen, is best known for her long-running role as Cilla Battersby Brown in Coronation Street. She currently appears in the BBC daytime soap Doctors.

Bob Golding, who has been in the last two Royal and Derngate pantos, will play Nurse Nellie. Marc Pickering will take the role of Herman the Henchman. Completing the cast are Lauren Lane as Snow White, Joey Wilby as Muddles and Dean Whatton, George Coppen, Liam Roche, Jack Hilton, Kain Francis, Ali Sarebani and Paddy Holden, who play the seven dwarfs.

Jo Gordon, Royal and Derngate’s chief executive, said, “as we continue to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Derngate auditorium, we’re delighted to have such a great cast and company coming together to help us make this pantomime a true highlight of this milestone year.”

Written by Paul Hendy of Evolution Productions and directed by Emily Wood, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will run from Friday 8 until Sunday 31 December.
