Outdoor arts event SO Festival is to return to East Lincolnshire in summer 2016 with nine days worth of free performances.
Now in its eighth year, the festival will use seven locations across the county from 25 June until 3 July.
In 2016 the festival will take its inspiration from Lincolnshire’s rural, agricultural and coastal landscapes. It will focus on earth, air, fire and water.
Lorna Fulton, festival director for SO Festival, said, “we had our biggest audience ever in 2015 and we hope even more people will visit the market towns and Skegness to enjoy the spectacle.
“SO Festival is free, accessible and all the acts are innovative, interesting and entertaining—there really is something for everyone. There’s also a fantastic family feel about the festival; there are lots of opportunities for local people to get involved including festival ambassadors and an exciting planting project we’ll be launching soon.”
One of 2016’s highlights will be Equilibrius by the Bullzini Family which uses “the skills and thrills of the ancient art of high-wire walking”.
The festival will visit Mablethorpe, Horncastle, Alford, Louth, Spilsby and Woodhall Spa for one day each, finishing with a weekend in Skegness.
