Leamington Spa-based Heartbreak Productions will bring four outdoor shows to the North East between May and August this year. They are Romeo and Juliet, Private Lives, Gangsta Granny and Wuthering Heights but performed with the company’s own approach.
“We focus on the uniqueness of theatre and particularly the ever-changing relationship between the audience and the actor, which means our audience is encouraged to get involved and not just sit back and let the actors do all the work.” the company said. “Adaptations are based on the ‘play within a play’ approach. Using this mechanism allows us the freedom to put our own twist on popular texts, providing more opportunities for character development and audience participation.”
