Sheila Ferguson (Fairy Godmother) and John Partridge (Prince Charming) in Cinderella

John Partridge, probably best known for playing Christian Clarke in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, is to play Prince Charming for the second year in a row.

He will star in Cinderella at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal, reprising the role he undertook last year at the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury.

He has worked extensively as a singer and dancer in musical theatre, playing Rum Tum Tugger in the official film of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats.

Former singer in the Three Degrees Sheila Ferguson will play the Fairy Godmother.

Comedy double act The Grumbleweeds will be the Broker’s Men; Aimie Atkinson is Cinderella; Paul Gabriel will play Baron Hardup; Martin Ramsdin and David Robbins will be Ugly Sisters; Adam C Booth plays Buttons; and Chris Milford is Dandini.

Cinderella runs at the Theatre Royal from Saturday (8 December) until Sunday, 13 January.
