Social distancing: Peak Voices recording One Song More

Professional Derbyshire-based singing group Peak Voices is presenting an hour-long online production of their show One Song More as part of Buxton Fringe.

The concert includes songs from shows including Mamma Mia, Sunset Boulevard, Les Miserables, The Greatest Showman and Phantom of the Opera.

The concert was put together over three weeks. The first one-and-a-half weeks were spent learning and recording the audio. Peak Voices then spent about seven hours filming the concert while observing social distancing. Most of the songs were filmed in one take on multiple cameras.

Chris Blackshaw, an associate of the Royal Schools of Music, founded Peak Voices in 2018 to bring quality musical theatre shows to rural areas and provide entertainment to people who might not be able to get out to or afford to go to the theatre.

He is musical director of Bakewell Youth Theatre and is a member of musical theatre touring company ABD Productions which performs at Buxton Opera House.

One Song More is available to view online as part of Buxton Fringe until Sunday 19 July.
