North East company Perfect Fools—actor and mime Gordon Duffy-McGhie, director and dramaturge Rob Bullard and producer and director Mark Labrow—is to take Bulgakov's A Dog's Heart on a regional tour in February, March and April.
The company is heavily influenced by the clown, the fool, improvisation and play and aim to produce universal stories brought to life in a fantastical and fun way.
In the new Soviet Union, life is hard, but not for Professor Preobrazhensky. A world-famous cosmetic surgeon, he makes his fortune rejuvenating Moscow’s aging elite and when he meets Sharik, a starving stray dog, he finds the raw material he needs for his greatest experiment yet.
A Dog's Heart is a visually inventive retelling of Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel brought to life through a blend of comic clowning and storytelling.
The production won the Outstanding Performance Award at the 2013 Prague Fringe Festival.

- Arts Centre Washington (6 February)
- Queen's Hall, Hexham (7 & 8 February)
- Seaton Delaval Arts Centre (7 March)
