Edmund The Learned Pig

Edmund The Learned Pig—a new show for anyone aged eight and over—receives its world première in The Studio at Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre from October 9-26.

Billed as ‘a wondrous and darkly pleasant tale about a pig who taught himself to read’, the play is presented as a co-production between the Exchange, Fittings Multimedia Arts and Krazy Kat Theatre Company. It fuses British Sign Language, puppetry, magic and music.

The play tells the story of Bonaparte's travelling circus show and marvellous menagerie. Then into their lives comes Edmund the Learned Pig who proves he is no ordinary “porker” by trying to save the circus.

Fittings Multimedia Arts is a disability-led performance company which has been making work since 1995. The Krazy Kat Theatre Company has a 31-year history of creating visual and signed theatre for younger audiences.
