Hopes for a “better than ever” event: Buxton International Festival

Staff at Buxton International Festival have already started to plan a programme for 2021 after cancelling the 2020 event because of the coronavirus outbreak.

It was the first time in 40 years that the festival had been called off and the entire team has now taken “significant salary cuts” for six months as they prepare to deliver a “better than ever” event which will take place from 2 until 18 July 2021.

Recognised “nationally and internationally as one of the UK’s leading arts festivals”, Buxton International Festival is a “summer celebration of the very best opera, music and literature at the heart of the beautiful Peak District”.

The festival will be producing online content from July 2020.
