Entertaining Angels

East Midlands touring organisation New Perspectives is to stage a play written especially for the company by Brendan Murray.

Entertaining Angels is a “humorous and touching look at the role of the Church in contemporary village life and what it really means to be a Christian in the 21st century”.

Like much of Murray's work, the play has grown out of research in and among the communities he writes about - in this case a series of interviews with clergy, parishioners and other parties about the state of the Church of England within rural communities.

The cast comprises Paul Huntley-Thomas, Judith Faultless, William St Clair, Beatrice Comins and John Walters. New Perspectives’ associate director Tilly Branson directs.

Entertaining Angels will open at Lakeside Arts Centre, Nottingham from Thursday until Saturday, 2 to 4 May before visiting rural venues and arts centre across the East Midlands.
