The Royal Exchange Theatre is offering three Playful Bursaries to artists or companies who would like to develop new performance ideas for young people.
The three £500 awards are available as a contribution to any artist or collection of artists—based in the north west—who would like to develop an idea for a performance project aimed at 9- to 13-year-olds. The idea should not be text-based, but a writer may be included as part of a development team.
Each successful applicant will also be offered a rehearsal space at the Royal Exchange Theatre for up to one week during the summer next year for research and development. A short presentation of the idea would be expected at the end of this week.
Applicants should provide no more than 500 words in writing about their idea and who would be involved. This should be accompanied by simple CVs and / or a company biog.
