Playwrights' Studio Scotland seeks 6 new playwrights

Playwrights' Studio ScotlandPlaywrights' Studio, Scotland is inviting applications for its 2012-2013 mentoring scheme, which will support at least six new playwrights for six months to develop new scripts.

To be eligible for the scheme, writers should be from or living in Scotland and have a play that they would like to develop during the mentoring time. They should also be available for the six months from October 2012 to work regularly on their plays with their mentors, who are established playwrights and will be allocated in September.

To apply, send a covering letter explaining why you would like to be mentored and a brief biography with two ten-page extracts of writing with synopses of the works that each extract comes from to Playwrights' Studio, Scotland, CCA, 350 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, G2 3JD or as a Word or PDF file to [email protected].

The closing date for applications is 31 August 2012.
