All I Want Is One Night

All I Want Is One Night by Jessica Walker at Manchester Royal Exchange from June 15 to 18 is a new portrait of the world’s most painted woman.

Suzy Solidor was one of Paris's most fêted cabaret stars of the '30s and '40s. Openly bisexual, she was renowned for the power she exerted over her audience in her renditions of erotic lesbian songs.

In this brand new play, written and performed by singer and actor Walker, Suzy’s portrait is painted anew, in an intimate and emotional journey from her heyday in the club to her cross-dressed old age in the south of France.

It’s a Royal Exchange world première, directed by artistic director Sarah Frankcom, where Solidor’s infamous songs will be heard in English for the first time.
