English Youth Ballet is auditioning for roles in a romantic and ghostly, full-length production of Giselle on November 3 at the Charter Theatre in Preston.
At the audition, 100 young male and female dancers (aged 8 to 18) from across Lancashire will be offered the chance to rehearse with and then dance alongside international professional principal dancers in the production for three performances at the Charter from March 4-5.
Award-winning English Youth Ballet is now in its 17th successful year and is one of the largest ballet companies in the UK. The company consists of a core team of eight international principals, two artistic ballet staff, wardrobe mistresses and technicians.
Their policy is to give professional performance experience to young dancers in venues close to where they live.
They benefit from being coached and mentored by the professional dancers in an 11-day rehearsal period out of school hours.
The audition fee is £15 and all dancers participate in a full ballet class. Parents are invited to watch.
