Preston City Council is to use an £841,647 grant from the Cultural Recovery Fund for a brand new Preston Live Arts Festival in and around the city from June 21–30.

It will celebrate arts, culture, and homegrown talent and be delivered by theatre producers Selladoor Worldwide. It promises family entertainment, live theatre, dance, music, contemporary art and comedy hosted at landmark venues across the city.

Chief Executive of Preston City Council Adrian Phillips, said, “this will be welcome news for the cultural sector and Preston’s artists and performers.

“The Preston Live programme will attract visitors to the city and build consumer confidence.”

Selladoor is looking to collaborate with local creatives and commissioning work from artists across drama, dance and spoken word with the aim of curating three Scratch Nights centred around the theme of Lockdown Stories, alongside work from local visual artists.
